Camp Skylark is on Sept 12-14, 2008 at Camp Squeah. For all returning volunteers, please contact the Hospice Coordinator at 604-860-7713 if you are interested in participating again this year.

If you are a new volunteer and would like more information about our children's bereavement camp please contact the Hospice office at 604-860-7713. Our application is now online as well, please print it, fill it out and send to the Hospice office by mail or fax to 604-860-7709.

All volunteers must go through a screening process and interview with our Camp Coordinator. Please see the application form for more details.

Camp Skylark is open to children who have had a loss in their lives due to a death.

Camp Skylark is designed for children ages 6-12 who are grieving. Our model at the camp is to include activities that are traditional camp acitivites such as rock climbing, hiking, and arts crafts as well as activities that focus on grief and loss.

All activities and the entire camp program is sensitive to all cultures and allows the child to make choices about how they wish to express their feelings. We believe that each child is an individual and grieves in their own way and our role at camp is to be there and offer activities and opportunties for grief to be shared among their peers.

We have space for only 25 children. If your child or someone you know would be interested in learning more about Camp Skylark, please contact the Hospice office at 604-860-7713.
